Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been used for years by elite athletes to repair tendons and ligaments and promote the healing of injuries. PRP contains growth factors that stimulate cellular healing and improved blood flow to the tissue with new blood vessels (neo-vascularization). More recently, aesthetic and cosmetic medicine has used this regenerative therapy to form new collagen and improve circulation in the skin. A revolutionary use of PRP is the treatment of individuals’ intimate areas. Medicine now uses PRP to help improve genitourinary function in both men and women.
Unfortunately, individuals can experience decreased sexual sensation and urinary incontinence as a side effect of aging. For women, this can occur due to changes from childbirth or menopause that results in vaginal dryness and incontinence. Men can feel inadequate from their inability to please their partner and may have their own issues related to erectile dysfunction. PRP can be used to treat all of these issues with in-office procedures called the O-Shot® and P-Shot®.
In women, the clinician injects the PRP into an area called the O-Spot–a collection of structures that activate the orgasm system. The woman usually enjoys the effects of the O-Shot™ almost immediately as the growth factors begin to rejuvenate and enhance the sexual response. So, the O-Shot® (or Orgasm Shot®) is a nonsurgical procedure that uses the growth factors each woman has in her own body to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation to activate the Female Orgasm System. Thus far, almost all women receiving the O-Shot™ procedure enjoy an increase in their sexual response, and for many the increase is dramatic. They sometimes experience other effects listed here:
